Adventure Partner

MAP's Adventure Team is partnering with Ouzel Outfitters
for the 2016 MAP the Rogue Trip.
Ouzel Outfitters is an accomplished and
trusted adventure travel group.
They provide large tents, thick pads
and flannel-lined sleeping bags.
Meals include grilled wild-caught salmon,
grilled tri-tip (a guest favorite)
and when fire restrictions allow,
lots of dutch-oven baked cakes, breads, biscuits, etc.
We'll dine on full-sized banquet tables
with fine wines. Standard camp is very comfortable.
Ouzel includes paddle rafts, oar rafts
and inflatable kayaks on the trip
so guests can choose their "thrill level".
With a 5-day, 4-night schedule we'll have plenty of time
for playing in the rapids, adventure swims,
rock-jumping, hiking, etc.
On a layover-day, Ouzel will organize
a longer adventure hike.

ITINERARY

Day 1:

Arrive Medford Airport.
Shuttles are arrange to take the group to the Galice Resort.
The entire lodge has been reserved for our group.
We'll enjoy a family-style dinner
on the deck over-looking the river.
The guides will give a pre-trip orientation
and packing instruction this evening.

Day 2:
Once everyone is packed up,
a short shuttle takes us
to our launch location.
After a safety orientation,
we'll get on the river for the first of 5 fun-filled days.

Days 2-6:
Each day on the river is spent running the rapids,
stops for lunch and short hikes,
playing in the river, lazy floating, etc.
Ouzel's equipment rafts run ahead of the group each day
so that camp is set up when guests arrive.
Appetizers, wine and beer, delicious dinners
and time around the campfire (restrictions permitting)
characterize the evenings.

Day 6:
We'll reach our take-out in the afternoon
and a shuttle will be provided back to the Galice Resort.
The lodge has been reserved again for our group.
We'll finish the trip with
another family-style river on the deck over-looking the river.

Day 7:
Shuttles are available to return the group to the airport.
