Kristen Vetri-San Filippo
Kristen (a graduate of James Madison University) started out in politics in Virginia during her post-graduate career. Inthe spring of 2002, she was part of a financeteam which raised $32 million fora gubernatorial primary and generalelection campaign. Following that victory, she accepted a position on a presidential campaign, where she assisted with the managing and fundraising efforts in ten states in the western United States. Kristen’s division raised $20.3 million towards a total of $262 million raised. As part of the finance team, she continued to assist and manage the fundraising efforts in the 15 states in the western United States, raising a total of $23 million towards the total of $269 million raised. Kristen was responsible for developing fundraising strategies in Oregon, Utah and New Mexico. Kristen has organized and executed events forthe President, Vice President, and First Lady, as well asvarious surrogates from the Administration.
Kristen has also servedin the Department of Education, first as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Post Secondary Education, and then as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Education’s Commission on Higher Education. Kristen left the political field to take a nonprofit position as the District Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and was responsible for raising funds in Somerset, Middlesex and Union Counties in New Jersey, as well as in Staten IslandandNew York state. A large part of her fundraising efforts were focused around the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. She is currently an Associate with Tusk Productions and has served as a finance consultant on a variety of local and state races.
